The scariest quote was the one I left off where he called the American people smart because, “after all, they keep re-electing me”. I left it out because this cartoon is meant to illustrate how bat-shit crazy Joe Barton is, not how unimaginably daft his constituents are.
Although, as a commenter on the Huffington Post said in reference to a 2010 HuffPo article about Crazy Joe defending BP after the oil spill: “Hey man, it’s Texas. Home of numerous oil billionaires, corporate corruption, presidential assasinations, and the Bushies.”

I’m on vacation this week (Smoky Mountains and Asheville, NC) so I am recycling some old favorite cartoons that were not published on Greenery. Can’t get much greener than a recycled cartoon–saves paper and electricity (less computer/scanner/photoshop time). Enjoy (again)!

West Virgina politicians have long stood in the way of progress towards a clean energy future. Well, Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), the infamous coal-loving nonagenarian, has recently warned his state that they might want to get with the times.
We’ll see how this effects his once-thought-to-be-guaranteed NO vote on the bipartisan climate and clean energy bill…
