This is an updated gif from one I did in 2017 for Greenpeace. They wrote an in-depth piece on the impact of the first ten years of smartphones. Although it’s almost 9 years old, it’s worth the read. I’d say just double the stats for an updated shock; however, I’d bet my cartooning income that the impact has more than doubled.

Here’s another piece on the subject from FairPlanet.org. It’s a broad overview–I do think we need another in-depth piece from Greenpeace to update us on the impact and hopefully inspire us to slow our collective roll.
